Cuyahoga Falls hires new football coach

Cuyahoga Falls High School's football team has a Black Tiger at the helm.

The Cuyahoga Falls City Schools Board of Education on May 17 unanimously approved granting Shane Parker a supplemental contract as the new head football coach. Parker's annual salary will be $8,940.

A 2004 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, Parker is a social studies/criminal justice teacher at the high school. Following the Mary 17 school board meeting, he said he is looking forward to his new job.

"Word don't do justice to how I'm feeling right now," Parker said. "My excitement level and the fire that's burning inside; to be here and to have a hand in shaping this program and these young men -- it's just unbelievable."

Parker said his program will promote "core family values."

"We're going to restore Black Tiger pride give this community the program and the young men it deserves," Parker said. "I want to turn out young men who are going to look back and completely relish for ages their experience playing football here and being a Black Tiger."
