The Texas Rangers recently announced that Frisco RoughRiders' pitcher John Fasola, a Walsh Jesuit graduate, has been promoted to Triple-A Round Rock.

Fasola, 24, joined the RoughRiders May 23. He appeared briefly with Round Rock in mid-May, allowing one run across two outings (2-2/3 innings). Fasola also spent time with the Class A-Advanced High Desert Mavericks.

With the Riders, the right-hander went 3-1 with a 3.73 earned run average in 22 appearances, successfully converting all five save opportunities he had. Fasola recently had a 12-inning scoreless streak. As of press time, he led the Rangers farm system with 11 total saves. The Rangers drafted Fasola in the 31st round of the 2014 draft out of Kent State University.

Fasola also recently was named the Texas Rangers Minor League Reliever of the Month for the entire organization in July.
