If nothing else, the Cuyahoga Falls boys basketball team is certainly entertaining, especially this past week.
On Jan. 29, the Black Tigers lost a heart-breaker at Barberton, 69-67 in two overtimes.
The loss came when Scott Sabol launched the game-winning three-point shot from the right corner as Falls doubled-team inside to create the opportunity.
The loss left the Black Tigers 10-5 overall and came despite two three-pointers by Angelo Cugini and Devin Speicher in regulation to extend the game into overtime.
The game-winner came after Josh Ricker cut the deficit in the second overtime to 66-65 and Cugini gave Falls a 67-66 lead with a layup with 29 seconds remaining.
Josh Ricker led the Black Tigers' offense with 26 points and Cugini finished with 21 points, even in the overtime periods.
On Jan. 25, the Black Tigers won at Parma Senior 53-51, coming from two points down heading into the frantic fourth quarter.
It was a big night for Henry Shaw, who led the Black Tigers with 19 points.
Cugini was the team's second -eading scorer with 16 points. Speicher finished with seven points, Matt Lawrence had six points off two three-point shots, Ricker had four and Jay Slone had one.
Greg Smalley led the host Redmen with 14 points and Anthony Schmook with nine points.
Falls was set to host North Royalton Feb. 1 at home, but resutls were not available at press time.
On Feb. 5, arch rival Stow-Munroe Falls pays a visit to Falls. Tip time is set for 7:30 p.m.
