Akron SCORE, the free mentoring program for new and existing businesses, will present free workshops in June 2017 at two Akron locations and a Medina location. The workshops offer practical guidance to help new businesses get started and existing businesses improve their operations and profitability.
All workshops are conducted by professional counselors certified by SCORE, the non-profit Small Business Administration-affiliated organization. The workshops will be conducted at the Taylor Institute for Direct Marketing at The University of Akron, Goodwill Industries and the Medina County University Center.
Workshops at the Taylor Institute include the following, all held from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m.:
■ June 13 -- Fundamentals of Writing a Business Plan,
■ June 20 -- Fundamentals of Financial Management,
■ June 21 -- Intellectual Property Issues Businesses Need to Know
Workshops at Medina County University Center include:
■ June 14 -- Drive New Business with Social Media (9 to 11 a.m.)
■ June 21 -- Email Marketing: 30 Ways to Grow Your Email List (9 to 11 a.m.)
■ June 28 -- Email Marketing: Shorten Your Sales Cycle -- Automate Your Marketing (9 to 11 a.m.)

Founded in 1965, Akron SCORE serves Medina, Portage, Summit and Wayne counties in Ohio, and is comprised of 63 mentors skilled in a wide variety of business disciplines.
