The Falls Cancer Club and the members of the Police and Fire department basketball teams would like to thank everyone who attended the Battle of the Badges basketball game on March 3.
The fire and police teams battled it out on the court with the police team coming out the winners.
However, everyone there are champions to the cancer patients of the Falls Cancer Club. The spectators filled the stands, the concessions were great and the volunteers who worked the event were all part of the success of this fundraiser. We were blessed with Eleni Naomi starting the event by singing the national anthem.
The kids who participated in the games between the periods were fantastic -- they did layup shots and free throw competitions to the delight of the audience. The halftime entertainment by three different dance teams of the McCardle's Dance Studio kept the audience enthralled. A big thank you goes out to Western Reserve Hospital who was the MVP sponsor of the game. The proceeds from the game -- more than $6,400 -- will be used to pay the bills of the 59 cancer patients of the Falls Cancer Club.
Thank you again to the Cuyahoga Falls community for supporting this family event.
