Kimberly Ann Tucker (nee O’Connor), 45, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, October 5,2016.
Kim was born in Cleveland, Ohio. After graduating from Regina High School in South Euclid, Kim attended the University of Akron where she received a bachelor’s and master’s degree in Elementary Education. In 1996, Kim began working as an educator for the Akron Public Schools, where she remained employed until her passing. Kim spent most of her teaching career at Erie Island Elementary School and Portage Path Community Learning Center. Students, both past and present, adored Mrs. Tucker and her compassionate heart. She truly loved each and every student as well.
Aside from her love of teaching, Kim enjoyed going to the movies with family and friends, playing cards and board games, and spending time with those she loved. Kim considered herself blessed to have married her first love. A nurturing soul by nature, Kim loved every second of being a mother. Kim shared a touching and special bond with her parents. Kim also enjoyed an especially close relationship with her two godchildren. Many people find it challenging to keep in touch with all of the friends they encounter through the years. Kim was an exception. She made every friend feel loved and treasured. Kim will be remembered for her thoughtfulness, giving spirit, and infectious laughter.
Kim is preceded in death by grandparents Margaret and Lewis Koch; and Eugene and Anne O’Connor.
Kim is survived by her devoted husband Darian; beloved children Joseph, David and Sarah; loving parents Edward and Rita O’Connor, many cherished friends, and her dedicated school families.
Mass of Christian Burial was held at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church on Tuesday, October 11, 2016.
