William LeRoy (Lee) Lile

Korean War veteran

William LeRoy (Lee) Lile died Jan. 24, 2013.

Born in Akron on Aug. 30, 1929, he resided in Cuyahoga Falls for 54 years. He graduated from Kenmore High in 1947, served in the U.S. Army as a cryptologist during the Korean War, attended Hammel-Actual College, and worked at Goodyear Tire and Rubber, retiring in 1987 with 32 years of service. A member of The Chapel since 1978, he previously attended Northwest Avenue Church of Christ with his family.

Preceded in death by parents Eugene and Clara Lile, infant daughter Lisa Ann, brother Jesse, and sister Anna, he is survived by his wife, Doris Lee, with whom he celebrated 60 years of marriage in 2012; children, David Bryan (Kathy), Neil Kevin, Hope Diane Janke (Igor), Mark Alan (Anna), Richard Daryl, and Robert Daniel; grandchildren Amy Carruthers (Brian), Katy Medvetz, Grace, and Tom; brother Jake, and sister Marie Blanc (Ron).

Visitation was at Redmon Funeral Home; the funeral, with son Mark officiating, was held in Memorial Chapel at The Chapel in Akron. Burial was in Clinton Cemetery.
