Elizabeth E. King, 86, of Cuyahoga Falls, died Jan. 6, 2013.
Mrs. King was born in Akron, the daughter of the late Robert Cleveland and Anna Mae (Allen) Rains. She resided in Cuyahoga Falls for more than 62 years. She was an active member of First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, where she participated in Beta Group, Christian Women's Fellowship, and Feed My Sheep; a volunteer for Good Neighbors; past Cub Scout, Brownie and Girl Scout Leader; past member of the Cuyahoga Falls Sorosis Club; and she was appointed as a board member of the Summit County Juvenile Court System, where she volunteered her time tutoring at the Juvenile Detention Facility. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Janet Medkeff; brothers, Russell, Winifred, and Albert Rains; special friend and sister-in-law, Vivian Reynolds, and sister-in-law, Juanita Booher.
Mrs. King is survived by her husband, Robert; children, James (Celeste) King, of Cuyahoga Falls, and Carol (James) Whitacre, Stow; grandchildren, James King, James Whitacre, Donald "DJ" Whitacre and Michelle Gesualdo; great-grandchildren, Cory, Joey, and Johnny; sister-in-law, Virginia Rains; and nieces and nephews.
A memorial service took place at First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, the Rev. Gail S. Lindsey officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to the church. Arrangements were entrusted to Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home. Her video tribute is viewable at cliffordshoemaker.com.
