Ruth Eileen Sypherd (Kettering), 94, died on Dec. 20, 2012.

She was born on Oct. 14, 1918, to the late Clarence and Esther Kettering. She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 65 years, Chester; a daughter, Sue Freed; son-in-law, Bob Freed; and brother, Roger Kettering.

She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Hughes, and son-in-law, Richard Hughes; sister, Doris Hudson; sister-in-law, Ruth Kettering; grandchildren, Christian Freed, Jered Freed (Lauren); two great-grandchildren; and numerous nephews, a niece, five step-grandchildren and their families.

Services were conducted on Dec. 27 at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home. Interment followed at Northlawn Memorial Park. Memorial contributions may be made to The Gardens of Western Reserve, 45 Chart Road, Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223.
