Margaret Mae VanBoven
Dedicated volunteer in Cuyahoga Falls
Margaret VanBoven, 90, died on Dec. 12, 2012, at the Gardens of Western Reserve.
Born in Cleveland on April 6, 1922 to the late Percy and Anne Hodgson, she had been a longtime Cuyahoga Falls resident. She was a member of the Pilgrim United Church of Christ.
Along with her husband, she was the owner of Van's Shell Service in Wadsworth. She was a dedicated volunteer for the Cuyahoga Falls American Legion Post #281 and Good Neighbors of Cuyahoga Falls. She was a talented artist and loved cats, always having one at her side. She was an ardent supporter of numerous causes, being particularly passionate in regard to rescue animals.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Emery, son Dale, and her brother Fred Hodgson. She is survived by her children Greg (Lona) VanBoven of Las Vegas, Nev. and Virginia VanBoven of Akron; grandchildren Philip (Dalila) and Elysia VanBoven; great-grandson Luke; sister-in-law Charlotte VanBoven; and nephew Bruce Hodgson.
A graveside service was at Oakwood Cemetery in Cuyahoga Falls. Pastor Gail Lindsey officiated.
