James Bales, 83, died on Oct. 28, 2012.
Born in Cuyahoga Falls on March 15, 1929 to the late Howard & Dorothy Bales, Mr. Bales had been a lifetime Cuyahoga Falls resident. He was a graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Mr. Bales worked in the banking industry for Akron Savings, Falls Savings, and the First National Bank of Akron. Upon retirement, he worked as a faithful and trusted employee of the McGowan-Reid and Santos Funeral Home for more than 16 years. Mr. Bales was a member of the First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, as well as the Lions Club and the former Falls Civic Music Association.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bales was preceded in death by his brother Richard. He is survived by his sister and brother-in-law Janet & Rollin Rawson of Cuyahoga Falls, as well as many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and longtime friend Bob Crithfield.
A funeral service took place at the First Christian Church of Cuyahoga Falls, the Rev. Gail Lindsey officiating. Interment took place at Oakwood Cemetery.
