James A. Purda, 52, of Cuyahoga Falls, died unexpectedly Oct. 25, 2012.

Mr. Purda was born in Akron and had resided in Cuyahoga Falls his entire life, graduating from Cuyahoga Falls High School in 1977. He had worked as head cashier for Giant Eagle Stow-Kent Store.

Preceded in death by his parents, James and Mary Purda; sister, Susan Pohl; and niece, Marianne Bradford, he is survived by his sisters, Carolyn Bradford of Medina and Barbara (Jack) Onusic of Ellet; nieces, Beth Lester and Jamie Skeggs; nephew, Matthew Bradford; and several cousins.

A Memorial Service was conducted in The Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home in Cuyahoga Falls, the Rev. John Mashek officiating.
