I would like to thank the American Legion for the opportunity to attend Buckeye Boys State 2010 as a Tallmadge High School delegate. The Ohio American Legion, the largest veteran's organization in the State of Ohio, sponsored the Buckeye Boys State Program. It was an awesome nine days! Even with NO AIR CONDITIONING on the hottest week of the summer, we had a blast. We learned about the political process by setting up a complete city, state and county government system and operated it as it operates in real life. My city elected me to the House of Representatives where I worked each day. I wrote and sponsored bills, paid rent, utilities, and even bought (fake) lottery tickets. Thank you to the American Legion for a week that myself and 1300 upcoming high school seniors from Ohio will always remember!
