Grandview United Methodist Church, 2315 Phelps Ave, will be observing Ash Wednesday, February 17 at 7:30pm. Ash Wednesday is the beginning of the wilderness journey of Lent. The readings for Ash Wednesday focus on realigning spiritual practices with their intended purposes such as fasting, prayer, corporate acts of repentance and giving to help the poor and needy. The Lenten season is a time of preparation as we prepare for the coming of Holy Week and Easter Sunday. Come join us at Grandview as we observe the imposition of ashes during our worship service. Our Chancel Choir will also be singing as we worship together and begin our Lenten season.
"Faith Through the Movies" is a monthly program held at Grandview. Join us Sunday, February 21 @ 5:00pm in the Fellowship Hall as we gather to watch "Dan in Real Life." In this film, Steve Carell protrays an advice columnist who has trouble managing his own relationships with his family, his 3 daughters and his love life. This movie is guaranteed to tickle your funny bone and touch your heart. Bring a snack or sack lunch to enjoy during the movie and plan to stay afterward for a brief discussion of the faith points of the film.
