The City made a tremendous blunder in forcing the struggling State Road Shopping Center to close and spending millions of taxpaper dollars to acquire and demolish the property. The demolition created the largest eyesore I have ever seen in Cuyahoga Falls. Stark, the favored developer, has built and operated other shopping plazas in NE Ohio and his plans may work here if a new grocery store and upscale shopping is what this community needs. It's not what I need so I don't expect to shop there.
The reduction in lanes on Portage Trail and the proposed islands on State Road will likely encourage me to avoid the area altogether.
