I don't understand why the city bought the state rd plaza site if they didn't want it. Now we (the city) are facing an $11M loss! This is clearly fiscally irresponsible management. As to the future of the site, what we need is light industry, small manufacturing, or perhaps warehousing businesses that will put a larger number of our neighbors to work than proposed retail (which has already failed in this location). We don't need to sell the property to a developer. We already have a zoning department to control the useage, and a city department to attract businesses. Further, this is not the "upscale" neighborhood which can support an "upscale grocery store". We have Marc's, Giant Eagle, and Acme within very close proximity to the plaza property. I live within walking distance to the area, and I will not patronize a Heinen's market because I have no need for their specialty products and because I can't afford them.

Very nice...

Congrats! you see the light.

A light industrial park is better than another non producing shopping center. We need to start building our country... Spending will follow.

I agree with the January 31st comment. We have enough grocery stores in the area. How about a Kohl's or a K-mart. We do not have either of these stores in the Falls. I feel that we could use a restaurant, like Max and Erma's or Ruby Tuesdays. How about a Barnes & Nobel? We need a neighborhood freindly and affordable Plaza. Hey State Road committee, why not ask Sonny, who owned Sky Way Hamburgers, if he would consider reopening on State Rd. [Sky Way was located on Steels Corner and Allen Road.] He went out of business due to bad location and road construction. These are all good affordable changes. Thank you.
