The school community is asking the broader community of Cuyahoga Falls to support the school levy. As you know, it won't raise your taxes, but will enable the future of Cuyahoga Falls to continue receiving an excellent education. I was not raised in Cuyahoga Falls and am continually surprised at all the people that were raised here that are now raising their children here. If we want to continue to have that kind of community, we must continue to support the schools. It does not matter your age or economic status-we will all be harmed by a school district that is not able to educate our kids the way they need to be educated in 2009 and beyond. As many people are aware, a Plan for Excellence was developed after our financial troubles several years ago. What some people do not realize is that the committees that were established were made up of teachers and administrators as you would expect, but also community members and parents. MANY people gave their time and talents because the schools are vital to our community and they recognized that fact. We are fortunate enough to have been awarded the "Excellent" rating by the State of Ohio. This is something that is not easy to maintain without support from our community. I want my sons' to want to raise their families here because it is such a great place to live. Neither they nor anyone else will have that desire if we do not show we are a community that values its children.

Sorry, ma'am, but 'vested interests' speak for themselves, eh? No mention of the state-minimum in education...no mention of the absence of any increase in SSI payments this year DUE TO THE LACK OF ANY NOTIBLE INFLATION...just how many citizens of the Falls are retired?
