To: Phil Keren -- editor of the Falls New Press,

We have 2 school districts, 2 library districts, 2 sets of city administrators, 2 mayors, 2 newspapers, and 2 representatives to our state. These groups of people comprise our key public information organizations. The leaders of our key organizations all collaborate to get our taxpayers to vote for levies.

All of us must manage our time, costs, and the quality of our services. In a digital economy, the quality of our service demands that we remain relevant.

We, as taxpayers, are compelled to compete in a digital information based economy. We use the websites of our key public information organizations to save time, lower our costs, and increase our quality of service to remain viable taxpayers.

If we are to work in a productive manner then we need leaders who will collaborate to coordinate our community. We need to use the latest tools, techniques, and training.

The websites of each of our key public organizations manage time differently -- at this time. Here are some specifics.

The Falls City School District uses a school calendar printed in the Falls News Press. The calendar is also on the school's website. Our Falls Library uses the term 'program'.

Meanwhile, our other key organizations use the term 'event'. Our Falls Library does not use a calendar. They use a list of programs (events). Our Summit Co. Public Library uses a 'calendar of events' more like our Falls School District. Silver Lake Village does not display a calendar of events in any format.

The City of Cuyahoga Falls posts a 'Calendar of Events' more like our Falls Library's 'List of Programs'. The Akron Beacon Journal shows a calendar on every appropriate web page.
Our puffy Falls News Press does not show a calendar in any format. But, it does print a list of events (or should I say list of programs) in the newspaper.

To our taxpayers, Good luck when you try to find the calendars on the different websites. None of them post their information in the same location on their respective website. Here is a webpage to help you start your search. http://tnl3000.com/Grp.aspx

I remain your obedient servant, community advocate, and taxpayer.
Lou Schott www.tnl3000.com

Awww..."This blog has been archived or suspended for a violation of our Terms of Service."

You can still have a piece of me anytime, anywhere you want Herm...babs!

Your forthrightness is appreciated, Mr. Schott!

Naw, oh annonymous tom...you got it wrong, babs! It's the likes of our politicians who propogate mindless babble for the likes of you! Unfortunately, very few of us have the temerity to delve into any subjects as do such concerned citizens as a Mr. Schott or a Kellie Patterson or even the misbeguided folk supporting Mayor Robart, eh? Oops! I hope my 'opinion' didn't gore the wrong ox, buttecup.

Most, like some Silver Lake-weenies, just want to spew forth the same tripe as yourself.

I only wish they would choose to not print more of Mr. Schot's letters. over the last few years i belive we have all learned that he is expert at stream lining everything, he has a personal vendetta with the librairy, and he has was way way to much time on his hands.
It is one thing to have a opinion that is what the editorial page is there for, not mindless babble

I read this a few times and don't exactly know what the problem is...that everyone has their own way of reporting events? I'm okay with that.
