Horrible Off Ramp Conditions @ Rte. 8 and Broad Bd
I'm not sure why, but it seems as though the Falls Street Dept. is looking the other way when it comes to stripping/repaving the off ramps heading both North and South when you get off Route 8 at Broad Blvd. I'm sure they will jump all over fixing this when somebody finally flips their car or gets...
Some Impacted by Water Hike More Than Others
I live in what was Northampton. In buying my home in 2004, I did not know I would become part of a turf war that started in a merger some twenty years ago. I came to find the pervious owner chose to have Cuyahoga Falls City Water, and I had to pay a lean on the property to tap in...
Some Citizens Impacted by Water Hike More Than Oth

Great Job Cuyahoga Falls Snowplow Crew!
I want to thank the Cuyahoga Falls Road Crew for doing such a fantastic job plowing our streets during the blizzard that hit us over the weekend. Determined to find a bridal gown that day, I was one of the few "crazies" out on the road all day Saturday. My snowstorm adventures took me to Belden Village, and out to...
Libraries, A Place for Learning
In a recent letter in your newspaper, Mr. Schott "wonders about the future of libraries". He talks about e-books and digital books making the future of our library uncertain. I would like to think that a library is more than just the printed book on the...
Grow up or get out
In response to several school board members' letters that have appeared in this paper recently, I as a tax payer would say this, Ms. Patterson and Mr. Grimes need to grow up or resign their...
Interested in your roads?
Citizens of Summit and Portage Counties can have a positive input on the planning, building and repair of the roads in the two counties. How? Attend the Citizens meetings hosted by AMATS. When? 7:00...
Trick? or Treat?
Who doesn't have a nostalgic childhood memory of running door-to-door in makeshift costumes shouting "Trick or Treat"? It has always been a rite of passage to participate. So why are so many of those participating now adults?! As always, I was prepared for all the little ones in costume. I purchased several bags of...
Disappointed in the People of Cuyahoga Falls
Two years ago, the population of Cuyahoga Falls was in an uproar about the School Board, School System, Closing Schools, Tax Levy's and an Astronomical Debt disclosed by Dr. Holland. I attended a public meeting at the High School auditorium that had more people turn out then the Musical Horizons...
Can I have a bagel with that donation?
NEWS FLASH! Confused University employee earning 3 weeks paid vacation per year (15 days) in desperate need of guidance as to how best spend said hard-earned benefit! Being blessed with good health, I could donate 5 days to the University's most valued Paid Leave Donation Program for the benefit of my coworkers battling a devastating medical condition or... ...being otherwise...
FOR THE SAFETY OF THE KIDS
I WOULD LIKE TO TAKE A MINUTE AND THANK THE BUS DRIVERS IN THE WOODRIDGE SCHOOL DISRICT. THEY REALLY DO WONDERFUL JOB TRANSPORTING OUR CHILDREN TO AND FROM SCHOOL, AND KEEPING THEM SAFE. BUT THEY CAN'T DO IT...
For the Kids?
Pass the school levy "For the Kids". I think we all heard that phrase enough over the last few years. So we the taxpayers again passed 2 more school levies "For the...
Kudos to Mrs. Newell
My daughter and I would like to give a great big thank you to Mrs. Newell. She has been working with my daughter for 2 years at Bolich. She has helped not only my daughter but myself making middle school an easier experience, which can be harder for some students than...
Automated Checkout at Bolich??
Good evening, Today I received a letter from Bolich Middle School stating that the cafeteria was changing to a computerized checkout system for my daughter's cafeteria. Does this not seem a little extreme? Did we just not pass a levy for our schools? Is this what we can look forward to? A non-essential frill that makes our lunch ladies' job...
School Board disputes and our school levy
It was very disheartening to read the recent Beacon Journal article about our school board's decision to discount and destroy it's own performance evaluation of our superintendent. This is not the kind of publicity that this school district needs when they are hoping to pass a school levy on May 8th. If it is the school board's responsibility to evaluate...
Plasma Trash Removal System
I dropped off a detailed suggestion for a Plasma trash system to the Honorable Mayor"s office for his perusal and consideration. The system is capable of disposing of several tons of trash per hr.Everything except nuclear wast The system is also capable of producing hydrogen fuel. The system would eliminate Tipping fees and eliminate the constant search for finding a place...
Congratulations to Lambert!!!
My wife and I are residents of the Riverfront area, and were extremely pleased to see that Lambert's car dealership on Front Street giving us back our sidewalks! Being an outstanding corporate citizen of Cuyahoga Falls, Lambert built a beautiful new showroom to display their vehicles, and, in doing so, also took their vehicles off the city sidewalks. Now we,...
Clarification
In a letter February 18, 2007 my fellow board member stated that district expenditures have decreased 12.2 million from FY 05 to 06. What she failed to mention was most of that amount were one time unusual expenditures in '05 that gave the appearance of a savings in 06. When you do the prudent factual studies using 5 or more...

the city workers do a great job,but they are over extened by the increase of the districts they must cover.i have lived in the falls for 40yrs and this is the 1st time that i can remember having to wait till 4p.m. on the 2nd day of a snow storm to have 7th st plowed.the main roads were good, but no...
