Longtime resident

Sam F. Gallimore, 89, of Stow, died Jan. 8, 2010.

Mr. Gallimore was born in Akron and has resided in Stow the past 34 years. He graduated from Hower High School, then served in the U. S. Army in the 82nd Airborne during World War II and retired from CSX Railroad after 34 years of service. He was an avid fisherman and handyman.

Preceded in death by his son Ronald and son-in-law Joe Digeroloma, he is survived by his wife of 62 years Aileen; children Donald (Sandy), Larry and Joyce Digeroloma; grandchildren, Gina (Tracy), Mike (Keri), Angela (Andy), Ron (Gretchen), Jeff (Bethany) and Nick; great-grandchildren, Alexis, Zachery, Brandon, and Joey; and sister Janet (Angelo).

A funeral service was conducted at the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, the Rev. John D. Mashek officiating. Final resting place is Rose Hill Burial Park. Memorials may be made to the Akron Area Soap Box Derby, 184 Grace Ave, Barberton 44203.
