Memory Walk at Blossom is Oct. 4

The Alzheimer's Association's annual Memory Walk® will take place at Blossom Music Center on Oct. 4. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. and the walk begins at 9:30.

Blossom Memory Walk 2008 is a family event with fun activities for children of all ages. All participants help to raise awareness, provide support to one another, and bring the community together; all for the greater good of the residents.

The Alzheimer's Association's Memory Walk, nationally presented by Genworth Financial, is the nation's largest event to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer care, support and research programs. Staged annually in hundreds of communities across the country, this event calls on volunteers of all ages to become champions in the fight against Alzheimer's. Champions include those living with the disease, families, caregivers, community members and corporate and community leaders. In 2008, it is estimated that there are now more than 5 million people living with Alzheimer's disease in the United States.
