Rick Lieberman knew his team was a in for a long day in terms of the scoreboard.

So the longtime Cuyahoga Falls head boys track and field coach decided to fine-tune for the future.

The visiting Black Tigers concluded the regular-season with a commanding 105-32 loss to Northeast Ohio Conference River Division rival Twinsburg May 7.

"Twinsburg is deep across the board," Lieberman said. "They scored in all the events. The weather conditions weren't great. There were constant 20-mile-per-hour head winds that affected everyone. I expect Twinsburg to do quite well at the conference meet."

The NOC Meet is scheduled to take place May 15 at Twinsburg High School. The action is set to begin at 4 p.m. It is scheduled to resume May 17 at noon.

"We're just trying to prepare for the conference and district meets," Lieberman said.

Falls won three events against Twinsburg. The 3,200-meter relay team of Nate Slaughter, Eddie Campbell, Joe Goubeaux and Bryce Pulley placed first with a time of 8 minutes, 31.5 seconds.

Pulley added a win in the 3,200 (10:09.5) and Elliot Tedquist triumphed in the pole vault (9 feet). The Black Tigers placed second in four other events, including two runner-up finishes by Jake Hall. The standout sprinter scored in the 100 (11.8) and the 400 (52.8).

Also taking second were Slaughter in the 1,600 (4:32.3) and Masam Mousavi in the high jump (5-6).

Falls finished in a tie for 21st with Wooster (eight points) at the 26-team Optimist Meet May 3 at Austintown Fitch High School.

Wadsworth won the competition with 98 points and Copley (80) and Canton GlenOak (72.5) placed second and third, respectively.

Pulley placed third in the 1,600 (4:31.11) and Slaughter took seventh in the 3,200 (9:43.01).

"We didn't bring a full team," Lieberman said. "We moved some guys around."

The Black Tigers have a weekend off for the first time in quite awhile.

"We're looking for some guys to score at the conference meet," Lieberman said. "The time off will do us a lot of good."
