Heather Sue Gerhardt and Wayne Edwin Myers spoke their wedding vows Sept. 29, 2007 at Westboro United Methodist Church in Westboro. The Rev. Jerry Cadell officiated at the rites which joined the daughter of Joyce Gerhardt of Springfield and the late Daniel S. Gerhardt and the son of James and Karen Myers of Cuyahoga Falls in matrimony.
The bride wore a sleeveless ivory satin A-line gown. It featured ivory cafe re-embroidered lace and a semi-cathredral-length jacket. She carried a bouquet of yellow roses and blue delphiniums in memory of her father.
Elizabeth (Whitmore) Cummins of Ashland and Carolyn (Zickefoose) Crews of Victorville, Calif. shared the distinction of being matrons of honor. Sandra Smith of Cuyahoga Falls, the sister of the bridegroom, and Kaila Miller of Barberton, cousin of the bridegroom, were bridesmaids.
The bridegroom's father performed the duties of best man. The groomsmen were Eric Stahlbird of Springfield, Ronald Stutler of Cuyahoga Falls, the brother-in-law of the bridegroom, and Rick Hayes of Springfield. Thomas Schumann of Hampton, Va. and Michael Donatini of Ashland ushered guests.
Gage Brown of West Lafayette, the great-nephew of the bridegroom, was the ring bearer.
A reception was conducted in the newlyweds' honor immediately following the wedding ceremony.
The bride graduated from Greenon High School in Springfield. She earned a bachelor's degree in political science from Ashland University and possesses a juris doctor from The University of Akron School of Law. She is employed by LexisNexis in Springfield.
The bridegroom graduated from Cuyahoga Falls High School and attended The University of Akron. He is employed by Ideal Steel in Springfield.
The newlyweds are making their home in Springfield.
