The village of Silver Lake will host its second annual Community Day May 31 from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. at village hall. Included in the day will be presentations by a master gardener, the Akron/Canton Bonsai Society and the American Conifer Society.
The day also will feature make-and-take projects sponsored by the junior garden club, nursery stock of herbs and annuals for sale and the garden club's sale of homegrown perennials.
Organizers are accepting contributions from Silver Lake neighbors' gardens for this sale.
Call a garden club member to arrange for pickup. Various other groups from Silver Lake also will be on hand to speak about their individual interests, to provide information and to answer questions. These groups include the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department, the Church in Silver Lake, the Silver Lake Police Department and the Summit Soil and Water Conservation District.
Mayor Bernie Hovey and members of Village Council also will be available throughout the day.Any resident who would like to be part of Community Day should contact village hall at 330-923-5233.
