At 6:50 p.m., a 19-year-old Akron man was yelling profanities at a fast-food restaurant's manager outside the eatery in the 2600 block of State Road, according to police.
According to the report, the 19-year-old was upset because the manager wouldn't let him talk to his girlfriend who was working there at the time, and because the manager asked him to leave.
The man was arrested, charged with disorderly conduct and released at the scene.
Theft
April 12 -- Thirsty? An Akron woman reported at 1:25 p.m. that someone between 1 and 1:10 p.m. smashed a rear side window of her car while it was parked at a store in the 200 block of Howe Road and stole three 12-packs of beer from the back seat. The value of the beer was $35.97. Damage was estimated at $150. Police have leads and a suspect in this case.
April 9 -- Purse snatching. A resident of the 2800 block of Bailey Road reported at that between 10:30 p.m. April 8 and 6 a.m. April 9 someone stole her purse from her porch. The loss was estimated at $300. Contents of the purse included cash, credit and debit cards, and prescription medications. The case is inactive.
Animal cruelty
April 12 -- Dog injured. A 56-year-old Lynn Drive resident reported that at 2:30 p.m. April 11 a neighbor poked her Doberman Pinscher dog with a sharp stick through her fence, causing the dog to lose a tooth. She also filed a menacing complaint stating the neighbor threatened to physically harm her.
Disorderly conduct
April 12 -- Falls fight. Two Falls men, 24 and 25, were arrested at 3:52 a.m. and charged with disorderly conduct after they argued with each other in the parking lot of an apartment complex in the 2200 block of High Street. The report said the men had been drinking.
Criminal damaging
April 11 -- Damaged phone. A Falls man reported that between 6 and 8 p.m. a girl allegedly threw his 12-year-old daughter's cell phone against a wall at the Natatorium, damaging its display. Damage was estimated at $250.
Domestic dispute
April 11 -- Threat made. Police responded at 9:22 p.m. to a domestic dispute at a home where a woman told police she and her husband were arguing when he threatened to take a baseball bat and smash the windows of the vehicle she was driving. No arrest was made.
Domestic violence
April 8 -- Threat leads to arrest. A 22-year-old female resident reported that at 5:36 p.m. her live-in boyfriend, 20, pushed her against a wall and pointed a BB gun rifle at her and said he was going to shoot her. She had no visible injuries, the report said, and did not want medical attention. She signed a criminal complaint and a temporary protection order, and her boyfriend was arrested and charged with domestic violence, a fourth-degree misdemeanor, according to the report.
Accidents
April 10 -- Two-car wreck. A 19-year-old Akron woman was cited for failing to yield the right-of-way in a private drive following a crash at 5:17 p.m. According to the report, a 48-year-old Akron man was traveling west on Graham Road when the Akron woman, traveling south in the parking lot of a business in the 400 block of East Bath Road, attempted to turn west onto Graham Road. The man's car hit the woman's, the report stated. EMS administered first aid to the Akron woman.
April 10 -- Ford vs. Chevy. A 2001 Ford F-150 pickup and a 1994 Chevy Blazer collided at 6:55 p.m. on Munroe Falls Avenue south of Liberty Street. The driver of the Chevy, a 37-year-old Akron man, told police he was waiting to make a left-hand turn onto Munroe Falls Avenue from a gas station when the driver of a vehicle in the right lane waved him to go ahead. A 46-year-old Falls man driving the Ford was in the left lane. Both drivers said neither saw the other before their vehicles hit nose-to-nose. The driver of the Chevy was cited for not yielding the right of way in a private drive. No injuries were reported.
April 10 -- Off road, on track. A 24-year-old Stow man was cited for failing to control his vehicle shortly before midnight, after he went off the right side of State Route 8 northbound and up an embankment before coming to rest on the CSX railroad tracks. The report said the driver had been drinking but passed the standard field sobriety test. The driver told the officer he may have fallen asleep.
