Pilgrim United
Church of Christ

Pilgrim United Church of Christ Youths, during the 9:30 a.m. Sunday School, are exploring ways to be active Christians every day. Now through May 4 they will be discussing the Emmaus Journey, "How am I a disciple of Jesus," "Where did I see, hear, touch, or otherwise experience Jesus today," and "What are my talents?" They will be experiencing these subjects through computer programs, life-sized board games, stories, art, and a Scavenger Hunt. Pilgrim welcomes all youth to come and learn how to "Live Like Easter People."

"Yes, Lord, I Have Sinned But I Have Several Excellent Excuses," is the topic for discussion in Pilgrim's new adult Sunday class. This book by author James Moore helps participants to take responsibility for their own actions and to learn how through the grace of God one does not have to live in guilt. One need not be a member to participate.

Adults who do not wish to take part in the book study may either attend a Bible study in the Pilgrim library or adjourn to the Heritage Room for a hot beverage and silent meditation.

Adult and Youth Sunday School classes begin at 9:30 a.m. and end at 10:15 a.m. Sunday morning worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. in the sanctuary and is followed by a coffee hour in the social hall where refreshments are served for young and old alike.

The youth from Pilgrim UCC, who will be going to the Ohio Conference Summer Camps, will host a Krazy Kamp Auction April 13 after the morning worship service. The money from this project will help defray the camp cost for the youth.

Pilgrim's singles group will enjoy chili, bread, and socializing April 13 at 6 p.m. in the social hall. This is a non-denominational group for all singles ages 30 to 65. A collection will be taken to cover food. This group meets the second Sunday.

The church is at the corner of Broad Boulevard and Second Street. Rev. Kirk Bruce, or Pilgrim secretary Mary Ann Winget, can answer questions at 330-928-4847 or visit Pilgrim's Web site at www.Pilgrimcf.org.
