Youth Football hosts sign-up party

Cuyahoga Falls Black Tiger Youth Football will host a sign-up party for varsity and junior varsity players March 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Roberts Middle School.

There will be pizza, fun and prizes.

This is open to players and cheerleaders with interest and eligibility for the 2008 junior varsity and varsity teams.

Parent who register their children at the party can save $25 off the $100 registration fee. This discounted offer is available only at the party and the fundraiser has been eliminated for players.

Registration fee, birth certificate, picture, and parent's signature are required to participate.

Little Black Tiger Cheerleading and Dance Team Registration

Registration for Little Black Tiger Cheerleading and Dance Team will be March 29 from 1 to 3 p.m. at Roberts Middle School Cafeteria.

Participants can be ages 8 through 14 as of Sept. 1.

A parent or guardian must be present to register. Required for registration are a copy of the birth certificate, emergency medical information, proof of residency, and $5 administration fee.

Brookledge Golf Course ladies league returns

The Brookledge Ladies Golf League will start their 2008 season in May. New members are encouraged to join in every Thursday morning for nine holes of golf. No subs are required as there is only individual play.

The season runs from May 1 through Aug. 28 with tee times beginning at 8:04 a.m. A kick-off luncheon is planned for April 17 at Papa Joe's Restaurant located at 1561 Akron-Peninsula Road in Akron at 12:30 p.m.

named in The Buckeye Scout Top 100

The annual Buckeye Scout Top 100 list, published by scout Jeff Fisher, has named three Walsh Jesuit Baseball Seniors as being among the 100 top senior baseball players in the state of Ohio.

Senior shortstop Ross Brunello, a Kent State University recruit, comes in at No. 44, while fellow KSU recruit senior pitcher Brannon Belair checks in at No. 60. Senior pitcher David Starn (undecided) comes it at No. 97 on the list. All three were also recently named nationally as 2008 Collegiate Baseball News Players to Watch.
