Cuyahoga Falls -- A 28-year-old man was charged with felonious assault and child endangering March 13 after police alleged he assaulted a 2-month-old infant boy the evening before.
Police say Craig Richard Wilson of Cuyahoga Falls had his initial appearance in front of Judge Kim Hoover of the Cuyahoga Falls Municipal Court and his bond was set at $2,500. Wilson posted the bond and was released from the Cuyahoga Falls Jail. He could not be reached for comment late March 13.
The infant's condition was not known late March 13. According to a police press release, the Akron Children's Hospital notified Cuyahoga Falls police at approximately 12:21 a.m. March 13 that they were treating the child, who had been brought in by his mother for severe head and bodily injuries.
Subsequent investigation by Cuyahoga Falls police detectives revealed Wilson had allegedly assaulted the child the evening of March 12 while caring for the infant at the infant's home. Wilson was charged with second-degree felonious assault and second-degree felony child endangering.
