Each year the Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce awards scholarships to Cuyahoga Falls graduating seniors. The students can attend any of the area schools, but must reside in Cuyahoga Falls. Students who attend Cuyahoga Falls High School and live in Silver Lake are also eligible.
The official scholarship packets have been sent to the school guidance counselors. Student applications may be picked up directly from all the area high school guidance counselors.
Applications will not be available at the Chamber of Commerce. The deadline for all completed applications to be submitted is no later than 5 p.m. on March 13 at the Chamber of Commerce office.
Donations for the Scholarship Program are being accepted from Chamber member businesses and anyone else in the community that would like to contribute.
The Scholarship Committee is also selling limited edition Cuyahoga Falls Clock Tower keepsake porcelain boxes for $12 or two for $22. All proceeds from the sales go directly to the scholarship program.
Feb. 15 is the annual Night at the Races Scholarship Fundraiser for the Chamber of Commerce Scholarship Program at the SYB Hall. Tickets are on sale now for $20 and includes a dinner buffet.
The 2008 scholarships will be awarded June 25 at Silver Lake Country Club at the Chamber's monthly lunch meeting.
This year's scholarship committee is made up of Cuyahoga Falls Chamber of Commerce member business leaders and is being chaired by Cyndi Kane, Stouffer Realty.
