Around $11,000 stolen from local machinist store

A Steels Corners Road business owner reported that sometime between noon Jan. 26 and 7 a.m. Jan. 28, someone forcibly entered his business, causing damage of around $400. Once inside, the suspect removed tool boxes and miscellaneous machinist tools valued at approximately $11,000. There are no leads or suspects in the case.

Assault

Jan. 25 -- Woman punched in head: A Winter Parkway woman reported that a man she knows punched her on the left side of her head twice at 10:30 p.m. The left side of the woman's head was red and she suffered some scrapes, but declined medical attention. The woman was referred to the Summit County Prosecutor's office.

Burglary

Jan. 24 -- Home entered: A Sill Avenue man reported that sometime between noon and 2:45 p.m. someone entered his house and stole his laptop computer valued at around $1,000 from his living room. The case is no longer active.

Disorderly conduct

Jan. 27 -- Man starts fight inside restaurant: A 23-year-old Randolph man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct around 2:55 a.m. for allegedly starting a fight inside a Howe Avenue eatery with three other males. No injuries were reported. Police say alcohol is believed to have been involved in the incident.

Theft

Jan. 25 -- Items stolen from car: A Hillside Street woman reported that someone entered her locked vehicle sometime between 9:20 and 11:15 a.m. while it was parked in a Howe Avenue supermarket parking lot. The woman reported around $642 in items stolen from inside, including several credit cards. There are no suspects or leads in the case.

Jan. 25 -- Juvenile steals more than $400 in games: A 16-year-old male was arrested and charged with theft after a security employee at a Howe Avenue store reported him for leaving the store around 8 p.m. without paying for 18 video games valued at $434.82.

Jan. 27 -- Extra money received from register: A manager of a Howe Avenue restaurant reported that a male purchased a lemonade with a $100 bill and then, through a series of requests to the cashier to receive his change in different denominations, ended up leaving the store with an extra $50. The incident happened at around 5:40 p.m. Jan. 26, but the theft was not discovered until the register drawer was counted at the end of the employee's shift.

Jan. 27 -- Wallet stolen from back pocket: A Gaylord Grove man reported that around midnight, someone took his wallet from his back pocket while he was passed out at a Front Street bar. He reported the wallet contained $1,800. The case is no longer active.

Jan. 28 -- Steaks stolen: A manager of a Graham Road grocery store reported that an unknown male left the store around 6 p.m. without paying for five packages of steaks totaling $100. The case is no longer active.

Jan. 28 -- Game system not returned: A Cathedral Lane man reported a woman he knows borrowed a Sony Playstation 2 around 11 p.m. Jan. 27. and failed to return it The game system is valued at around $79.
