In response to several school board members' letters that have appeared in this paper recently, I as a tax payer would say this, Ms. Patterson and Mr. Grimes need to grow up or resign their posts. While I agree with Mr. Grimes in that there have been many good things done with our schools in the last 2 years, mentioning a "disgruntled collegue" only adds fuel to the fire. That being said, Ms. Patterson stated in her letter that she was not disgruntled. Sorry, but the way I read her letter, she sounds like she is doing nothing but being disgruntled. Whining about her child's class size is just silly. Everyone's class size has increased, save for possibly some "LD" classes, and those kids are entitled to a free and appropriate education, just like her child. She also still seems upset about the building closings over 2 years ago. Sounds like disgruntled to me. The problem is, while these 2 carry on their juvenile feud, deadlines are being missed for recovery of almost $300,000. I would say this, if these 2 board members cannot work together for the good of ALL children, then they, especially Ms.Patterson, should step down and let someone more mature handle their responsibilities.
