Bailey Road Christian Church
Bailey Road Christian Church will host Sunday School at 9:30 a.m. with classes for all ages. Worship service is at 10:45 a.m. Just For Christ is from 6 to 7:30 p.m. JFC is music, games, Bible study and snacks for children from pre-kindergarten through eighth grade. Cub Scouts meet every Tuesday at the church at 6:30 p.m. The choir practices every Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. On the first and third Tuesdays at 12:30 p.m., "Happy Hands (a sewing and crafts group) meets. Girl Scouts meet every other Thursday at 6:30 p.m. The Christian Women's Fellowship meets the fourth Tuesday of the month at 7 p.m. The group is studying the book, "Bad Girls of the Bible" by Liz Curtis Higgs.

Falls Berean Bible Church
Falls Berean Bible Church, 1736 Bailey Drive, will host a parenting seminar that will focus on "Training Children to become Godly Teenagers" on Jan. 26 from 3 to 5 p.m.

The Church in Silver Lake
The Church in Silver Lake, 2951 Kent Road, is a spiritual wellness center. The church offers a weekly Bible study class each Thursday at 12:30. The church also provides "Lunch On Us" the first Saturday of each month beginning at 11:30 a.m. The weekly Sunday worship service is at 10:30 a.m.
United Presbyterian Church
Pastor Ross Slaughter continues with his series on modern day discipleship by taking a close up look at the Apostle John in a message entitled: "The One Disciple At The Cross." The Sacrament of the Lord's Supper will be celebrated this Sunday.
United Presbyterian offers two distinct styles of worship. The traditional service starts at 8:30 a.m. and the New Creation contemporary service starts at 11 a.m. The educational hour is between the two services beginning at 9:45 a.m. with small group ministry for all ages. Child care is available on Sunday morning. Parking is available on church property. All are welcome.
The ten-week Wednesday Night Alive! Program is under way, offering a wide range of faith-in-life options. At 5:15 p.m. The Rev. Dr. Richard Hassler will be basing his course on his recent book "Surprises Around The Bend: 50 Adventurous Walkers" exploring the lives of such notables as John Bunyan, Henry Thoreau, John Muir, Harriet Tubman, C.S. Lewis, Theodore Roosevelt, Mother Teresa and Dietrich Bonhoeffer. Then at 6:45 p.m. two other course options will be offered. "Water Cooler Christianity" explores how to talk about faith in the workplace when those kinds of conversations happen between people. This course will draw on the book "What's So Great About Christianity?" by Dinesh D'Souza and will be facilitated by Pastor Ross Slaughter. The other evening option is "Getting The Most Out Of Your Bible" in conjunction with the "Year of the Bible 2008." This course is designed for anyone who is new to the Bible and wants to develop a good spiritual strategy for reading and drawing from it. This will be led by Kathy Craddock and Douglas Steidl. The Wednesday Night Alive! Program also offers a variety of activities for children and teens and it hosts a family style supper from 6 to 6:45 p.m.
The Men's Breakfast will be Jan. 19, at the Silver Swan from 7:30 to 9 a.m.

Pilgrim United
Church of Christ
Pilgrim United Church of Christ, located on the corner of Broad Boulevard and Second Street, is a registered historic landmark. It is thought that Pilgrim played a part in the Underground Railroad in the 1800s.
The second Saturday of every month a free community lunch is served in the social hall. Cub Scouts, Girl Scouts, Alcoholics Anonymous, Emotions Anonymous, and Mom's Club of Cuyahoga Falls all meet at the church. Pilgrim sponsors weekly homework help for students from Dewitt Elementary School. Other groups such as: Good Neighbors of Cuyahoga Falls; Interfaith Hospitality Network for the homeless; and Mission Trips for disaster relief also are supported by Pilgrim UCC.
On Jan. 13, the Pilgrim Singles Group will meet in the social hall from 6 to 8 to make Hobo Stew and watch a movie. Those attending are asked to bring a canned vegetable to add to the stew and their own nonalcoholic beverage. The Singles Group meets the second Sunday of every month. Singles between the ages of 30 and 65 are welcome to join. The group is nondenominational and has no dues. A free will donation is taken to help defray the cost of food and paper products.
On Jan. 17 at 7 p.m. Women's Friendship Circle will meet in the social hall. The women will have the choice of making a photo keepsake holder or playing games. There will be a small fee to cover the cost of the material for the photo keepsake holder. Friendship Circle meets the third Thursday of each month. The group welcomes new members.
Many other activities and Bible Study Groups are hosted by Pilgrim. Call the office for information on the activities at 330-928-4847.
Sunday morning worship service begins at 10:30 a.m. and is followed by a Coffee hour. Sunday Bible Study for all ages begins at 9:30 a.m. Adults who prefer to have coffee/tea and meditate individually during 9:30 Bible study may do so in the Heritage Room.

Bethany United Church of Christ, 1235 Broad Blvd., announces the following programs and services:
Worship takes place on Sundays at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. Church school for children and adults starts at 9:15 a.m. The church offers many ways for adults to learn and grow in faith on Sunday mornings. They include: Bible Discoveries - studies one of the books of the Bible; Lounge Class - discusses a variety of current faith topics; Perspectives - discusses faith issues in current films; Seasons of the Spirit - discusses the biblical themes from that Sunday's worship; Seekers - discusses a variety of contemporary faith issues; Upper Room - connects the scripture for Sunday worship with life and faith. All of these classes end by 10:20 in time for the second worship service at 10:30 a.m. Bethany welcomes Philip Formes as its new Chancel Choir director. He has a bachelor's degree in music performance from the New England Conservatory of Music, has done graduate studies at the University of Cincinnati - College Conservatory of Music and expects to receive a master's degree in conducting from the University of Akron this spring.
The Bethany members offered help to the less fortunate during the Christmas season.
