Incumbent Vernon Sykes (D), of the Ohio House District 44, will not face a primary opponent in March, but will face a challenger in November.
Sykes will face Republican Adrian Sims Jr. for the post, which represents parts of Cuyahoga Falls and Akron.
Both Sykes and Sims are Akron residents.
