Silver Lake resident Nicholas Engerer was recognized for the ACCU Weather Undergraduate Scholarship in Meteorology at the Ohio University Founders Day Celebration on Feb. 2.
The National Weather Association, through the support of AccuWeather, offers the $1,000 scholarship to one undergraduate going in his or her sophomore year or higher majoring in operational meteorology, forecasting, broadcasting or consulting.
The scholarship is awarded based on college transcripts, recommendations from meteorology professors and a letter describing the applicant's involvement in operational meteorology.

Kyle Petty of Cuyahoga Falls was named to Barton College's Dean's List for the 2006 fall semester.
