Woodridge field house to be dedicated

The Woodridge Community will come together Sept. 24 and 24 to celebrate the opening of the new field house. This facility was built with the help of donations from the community with the guidance of the Woodridge Foundation whose members supervised both the building project and the fundraising for it.

The dedication will take place as a part of the seventh annual Woodridge Community Days. The dedication is slated to begin at Sept. 24 at 5:30 p.m. in front of the field house with tours before the dedication from 4:30 to 5:30 p.m. Tours will continue on Saturday morning from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The traditional activities of Community Days will start with Dogs 'N Chips Night at 5:45 p.m. after the dedication ceremony Sept. 24. Families will gather at the high school for a free meal before the Bulldogs home game vs. Streetsboro, which kicks off at 7 p.m.

On Sept. 25 everyone is invited to return to the high school for an open house that will include a pancake breakfast and other family activities from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Each year community organizations put up tables and displays at the event and share information about their group. Student groups were also represented including musical performances by band and choir members. This year, every Community Table will have items to give away to visitors.

Any group or organization who would like to participate on September 19 can contact middle school principal Linda Ocepek at 330-928-7420 or at locepek@woodridge.k12.oh.us.
