JOSEPHINE RITER

50-year city resident

Josephine Riter, 89, died Aug. 5 2010.

She was born in Atlanta, and lived in Cuyahoga Falls for the past 50 years. She graduated from Barberton High School and the Barberton School of Commerce, and worked as an executive secretary for British Petroleum. She was also the secretary for the Goodyear Car Club, and attended the Uniontown Chapel of Faith.

Preceded in death by her husband Nelson of 50 years, and son John David Riter, she is survived by children William (Christina) of West Virginia and Althea Jane Boley of West Virginia; five grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; nephew David (Jeanette) Dempster of Uniontown and many other nieces, nephews and friends.

A funeral service took place in the Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home, the Rev. Jack A. Coontz officiating. Interment was in Northlawn Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be made to the Haven of Rest, 175 E. Market St., Akron 44308.

Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
