Played baseball for Walsh Jesuit
Scott Steven Monzel, 24, died suddenly on July 7, 2010. Born on Jan. 4, 1986, he was the son of Steven and Lynne (nee Halter) Monzel.
He is also survived by one sister, Robyn Monzel; grandparents David and Joan (Vajnar) Halter; six uncles and five aunts; and 15 first cousins. He was preceded in death by grandparents Joseph and Helen (Kalesnik) Monzel.
An accomplished baseball player, Mr. Monzel was a member of the Walsh Jesuit High School 2004 State Champion team, and he played college baseball at Mercyhurst College and Western Kentucky University.
A Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Interment was private. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that a donation be made to: Walsh Jesuit High School, Attn: Baseball Program - Scott Monzel Memorial Fund, 4550 Wyoga Lake Road, Cuyahoga Falls 44224.
Stroud-Lawrence Funeral Home in Chagrin Falls was in charge of arrangements.
