STANLEY FILON

Served in Vietnam

Stanley Filon, 66, died Aug. 14, 2010.

Mr. Filon was born in Lochgelly, Fife, Scotland and has resided most of his life in Cuyahoga Falls. He was a 1961 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School, served in the U.S. Marine Corps in Vietnam and had worked for John David Jones and Associates and Stamm Contracting Company. He was a member of the Polish Legion of American Veterans, the Italian Club, VFW Ralph Huff Post 1062, American Legion Charles Faust Post 281 and St. Joseph Church of Cuyahoga Falls.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Ann; children, Paul (Gretchen) Filon of Hudson, Peter (Suzanne) Filon of Virginia, Steve Filon of Cuyahoga Falls, Mary Elizabeth (Ron) Prokopius of Maine, Susie (Howard) Brooks of Nevada, John (Marybeth) Filon of Cuyahoga Falls, Tom Filon of Cuyahoga Falls, and James Filon of Cuyahoga Falls; grandchildren, Alexis, Hailey, Jacob, Luke, Zachary, Taylor, Christopher, Madeline, William, and Benjamin; sister, Susie Littlejohn; and brothers Raymond Filon and David Filon.

A Funeral Mass was conducted in St. Joseph Church. Memorials may be made to St. Joseph Church, 215 Falls Ave., Cuyahoga Falls 44221, or Walsh Jesuit High School, 4550 Wyoga Lake Road, Cuyahoga Falls 44224.

Clifford-Shoemaker Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
