Haver, Whetsel have June wedding

Carly Melissa Haver, the daughter of Ken and Judy Haver of Akron, and Shawn Eric Whetsel, son of Larry and Patty Whetsel of Stow, were married June 12, 2010 at the First Church of God in Tallmadge.

The bride was escorted down the aisle by her father.

The maids of honor were Bethany and Amy Haver, sisters of the bride from Akron. Bridesmaids were Nicole Sheaffer, a friend from Columbus; Meghan Lauer, a friend from Akron; and Breanna Shields, a friend from Peninsula. The flower girl was Breanna Haver, 4, a cousin from Stow.

The best man was Joshua Shields, a friend from Peninsula. Groomsmen were Jon Phelps, a friend from Akron; Cir L'Bert, a friend from Akron; Michael Beauregard, a friend from Michigan; and John Cornell, a friend from Georgia. The ring bearer was Nathan Haver, 6, cousin of the bride.

The bride is a graduate of Firestone High School. She received a degree in theater arts from Point Park University and a master's degree in secondary education, literature, from the University of Akron. She is a substitute teacher for Akron Public Schools.

The groom, who was home schooled, graduated from the University of Akron with a degree in computer technology.

He works in tier support for Time Warner Cable.

The couple honeymooned in Montego Bay, Jamaica.

They have made their home in Cuyahoga Falls.
