Cleveland State offers tours to locals

Cleveland State University's Fenn College of Engineering and local Six District Educational Compact high schools are offering a tour to expose students, parents and educators to opportunities in engineering and other programs at CSU, as well as a chance to explore sites in downtown Cleveland near the CSU campus.

Visitors from Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Kent, Stow-Munroe Falls, Tallmadge and Woodridge high schools can take part in the free event Sept. 18.

The purpose of "Discover What Engineers Do and Explore CSU Too" is to get Six District Educational Compact residents to see the new growth taking place on and near the CSU campus and to learn about engineering degree programs offered at CSU's Fenn College of Engineering.

Visitors will learn more about the Fenn Academy, a pre-engineering partnership for high school students supported by businesses in Northeast Ohio.

A free bus will leave the Hudson High School parking lot at 9:30 a.m. Sept. 18 for the tour. Students, parents and teachers will return to the Hudson High School lot around 2:15 p.m. Transportation is provided for Six District Educational Compact residents. Lunch will be provided by CSU. A prize drawing will also take place.

After the program, guests will be driven to see key downtown sites and allowed to shop at West Side Market near CSU campus.

Seating on the bus is limited; pre-registration is required by Sept. 10. Call 216-687-5272 to make reservations.
