Silver Lake -- A Kent Road resident reported someone took his canoe from his backyard near the river sometime between Aug. 15 and Aug. 16 at 10 a.m. The canoe was leaning against a tree near the river bank. The estimated value of the canoe is $2,000. Police do not have any leads or suspects. As of press time Aug. 19, the canoe had not been recovered. Theft of drugs Aug. 17 -- Prescription bottle low. An Endicott Way resident reported the theft of some of her prescription pills. She told police she filled her prescription on Aug. 14 and on Aug. 17, she noticed her bottle of pills looked low. The resident reported she had her purse at work, then came home and left it in the kitchen or living room. Police said the resident is not sure who was in her house or when during this timeframe. Police do not have any suspects, but are still investigating. Damaging Aug. 18 -- Window damaged. Police were called to Silver Lake Elementary School at about 9:30 a.m. for a report of damage to a window. Police said it appeared someone had used a glass cutter tool to cut a circle of glass from the outer section of a window on the north side of the building, but no entry was gained. The hole was about 4 inches in diameter. The damage occurred sometime during the past week, according to police. School officials have estimated the replacement cost at $300. Police are investigating. CITY OF CUYAHOGA FALLS Aug. 16 -- Casualty. A relative reported finding a 53-year-old Second Street resident, unresponsive about 10:30 a.m. The police report indicates he died between 6:30 a.m. on Aug. 15 and 10:30 a.m. on Aug. 16. A spokesperson for the Summit County Medical Examiner's office reported the cause of death has been ruled "natural." Aug. 14 -- Casualty. A family friend reported the discovery of an unresponsive 43-year-old Buckingham Gate resident about 1 p.m. There were no signs of forced entry or foul play, according to the police report. A spokesperson for the medical examiner's officer said the resident died from natural causes -- a ruptured cerebral artery aneurysm. Aug. 13 -- Assault. About 8:15 p.m., a 10th Street resident reported someone "sucker-punched" him on the right side of his jaw, causing him to fall and strike the left side of his face on the concrete. The victim said he lost consciousness. The incident reportedly occurred on the Riverfront Parkway.
