The following local students were named to The Ohio State University's Honor Roll for the spring 2010 quarter:

Buzzelli, Christina Emilia Ciraldo, Amanda Neely Conn, Natalie Marie D'Andrea, Elizabeth Marie Folsom, Michaela Joyce Gergel, Timothy James Hetteberg, Chelsea Nicole Kelly, Dane Alexander Cramer, Jeremy Michael Ledonne, Melissa Jo Hamilton, Kyle Marshall McNicholas, Amberle Houghton, Sarah Camille Potokar, Melissa Jane Miesle, Ashley Hannah Raymond, Darius Mousavi, Amy Lynn Zuo, Brittany Lynn Mullett, Matthew Allan Volchko, and Michelle Rene Pongracz, all of Cuyahoga Falls, and Siobhan Maureen Henterly and Christopher Stephen Jones, both of Silver Lake.

Malone University

Jessica Slaughter graduated with honors from Malone University in May with a bachelor's degree in education, specializing in language arts (grades 4-9) and mathematics (grades 4-9). She has accepted a position teaching seventh grade language arts at the Seabrook Intermediate School, Seabrook, Texas, in the greater Houston area. Slaughter is a 2006 graduate of Cuyahoga Falls High School and is the daughter of Ross and Sheila Slaughter of Cuyahoga Falls. She recently returned from a trip to Egypt with the Summer Service Program through the New Wilmington Mission Conference.

Falls resident awarded Avon scholarship

The Avon Foundation for Women has awarded Meghen Vance from Cuyahoga Falls with a 2010 Avon Representative Scholarship in the amount of $1,500.

Vance will be attending Darton College in Albany, Ga., during the 2010-11 academic year.

The Avon Foundation annually awards up to 150 scholarship awards of either $1,500 or $2,500, depending on whether the recipient's status as a student is part-time or full-time.
