Cuyahoga Falls -- A 64-year-old Falls man was arrested and charged with felonious assault and domestic violence after he allegedly attacked his wife and daughter. The man's wife, 63, reported that her husband hit her several times in the head with a whiskey bottle, a telephone and his fists. His daughter, 39, of Hudson, said her father punched her in the face several times. Both incidents occurred at the couple's home in the Falls around 9:30 p.m. July 20. Both victims had visible injuries and were transported to the hospital by Falls EMS. The case was bound over Aug. 5 to a Summit County Grand Jury, according to court records. Accident Aug. 9 -- Two-vehicle crash. A car driven by a 21-year-old Falls man was traveling north on Front Street in the left lane around 5:20 p.m. when it was struck by a northbound SUV being driven by a 66-year-old Warren woman who was starting to turn left from the right lane. The woman was cited for improper lane change. There were no injuries and damage to both vehicles was non-functional. Burglaries Aug. 8 -- Door damaged. A resident of the 2500 block of State Road reported someone broke down her front door and entered her apartment between 1 and 6 p.m., but nothing was disturbed inside. Damage was estimated at $100. Aug. 8 -- Intruder confronted. A resident of the 1100 block of Washington Avenue reported a man she didn't know entered her house through an unlocked back door at 4:15 p.m. The resident, who had been sleeping on the couch, woke up and confronted the intruder, prompting him to run out the door he came in. A bottle of whiskey and a bottle of root beer were reported missing from the refrigerator. Arson Aug. 7 -- Hot mail. Police say that someone set fire to the mail inside a mailbox on the corner of Bailey Road and Myrtle Avenue around 4 a.m. The Falls Fire Department put it out, police said. The amount of monetary damage was not reported. Public indecency Aug. 2 -- Get a room. A 33-year-old man and a 38-year-old woman, both of the Falls, were arrested and charged with public indecency after they were seen by police engaged in sexual conduct in public at Portage Trail and Riverfront Parkway shortly before 1 a.m. Rape July 21 -- Felony report. An Akron woman reported that a man she knows performed a sexual act on her against her will in the 1200 block of Munroe Falls Avenue at 7 p.m. July 20. Menacing July 20 -- Pump rage? A Falls woman reported a man she didn't know yelled profanities at her and threatened to assault her in a gas station parking lot in the 2000 block of Bailey Road shortly before 3 p.m. July 18. It was not known why the man was yelling. Telecommunication fraud July 20 -- Sitter scam. A Falls woman reported that she responded to an online ad seeking a baby sitter. She received a check for $2,500 and instructions to keep a set amount and wire the rest to an individual in California. She said her bank told her the check was counterfeit.
