David's House Family Church

Davids House Family Church Pastors Richard and Theresa Skoff and Community of Believers - Pastor Tom Bloom have been hosting bi-monthly worship services with five other area churches for about two years. They call the event "Together in Worship." They are sponsoring an outdoor "Together in Worship" event July 18 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the Cuyahoga Falls Amphitheater. All are welcome.

The other churches they are working with are Community of Christ Pastor Patrick Barrett, Emanuel Christian Assembly Pastor Joe Schoblocher, Sanctuary of Praise Pastor David Fisher, and Suffield Fellowship Church Pastor Jim Shuman.

St. John's Episcopal Church

The annual church picnic and worship at the park will be July 25 at 10 a.m. in the Big Cuyahoga Shelter at Water Works Park. The regular Eucharist service will take place at the church at 8 a.m.

Professional portraits are being taken by Ryan Smas for the pictorial directory. Pictures will be taken at the picnic of groups and portraits will be taken after the 10 a.m. service on Aug. 1.

The children's chat for July 25 is from Pentecost; Jesus teaches people to pray.

A plaque is being made to honor Sally Russell for her many years of service to St. John's. The committee would like to include a picture of her on the plaque. If anyone has a picture, contact the office.

The church is located at the corner of Second Street and Portage Trail. Parking is across the street. Handicap facilities are also available.

St. Luke's Lutheran Church

Vacation Bible School: St. Luke's, 2121 Sixth St., will be having a "High Seas Adventure" VBS, July 19-23 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. All are welcome so bring a friend and register today online at www.stlukes-cf.com or call 330-929-2683.

Northminster Presbyterian Church

The Northminster Presbyterian Church, 104 W. Portage Trail Extension, will continue throughout the summer to worship at the usual 10:30 a.m. Sunday time. The Rev. Stephanie Crossland will finish the month of July by speaking on "Not Moved from Hope" and "Ask, Seek, Find." In August, the Rev. Crossland will focus on "An Overwhelming God," "No Excuses" and "The Choice to Love."

The Northminster Book Club will continue to meet on the third Monday of each month at 1:15 PM in the church lounge. On July 19, the club will be discussing "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett, and at their August meeting, they will discuss "An Altar in the World" by Barbara Brown Taylor.

The Presbyterian Women of Northminster Church are planning their annual Summer Salad Supper for July 21 at 6 p.m. at the church. A collection will be taken at the supper for "Tools of Hope Program."

The Northminster Craft Guild meets on the third Wednesday and Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., for women of the congregation and their friends who are interested in any craft. The next meeting will be on July 21. Bring a lunch and plan to stay for good fellowship and crafting.

Chapel Hill Church

Chapel Hill Church, 1160 Howe Ave., (under the white water tower), will have Vacation Bible School Aug. 2-6. All boys and girls, ages 4 through fifth grade completed, are welcome to come and share in this week featuring Bible stories, songs, games, refreshments and crafts. Sessions begin at 9:15 a.m. and end at noon each day. The theme is SonQuest Rainforest. Admission is free. For more information, call 330-929-1924.

Bethany United
Church of Christ

Bethany United Church of Christ welcomes the community to worship with the congregation each Sunday at 8:30 (in the Social Hall) and 9:30 a.m. (in the Sanctuary). Nursery is available 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. The Men's Volunteer Breakfast is a great time for men of the church to get together to share faith, food, and fellowship together; as well as a few chores with which the custodians could use some help. The next breakfast is July 21. Camp Bethany/New Trinity begins July 25. The building is wheelchair accessible with handicapped parking. For more information, call 330-923-5277. Church of New Hope
in Stow

Hopefest, a music festival/charity benefit benefiting the Haven of Rest, will be at the Church of New Hope, 4415 Darrow Road in Stow, on July 24 from noon to 9 p.m. There will be food, music, an inflatable, face painting and other games for the kids, and a car show. Non-perishable food items will also be collected at the church to be given to the Haven of Rest. People are invited to bring lawn chairs and blankets.

A Classic Car and Hot Rod Cruise-In will be on July 24 from noon to 9 p.m. at the Church of New Hope. The cost per car for the Cruise-In is a $10 donation to the Haven of Rest.For more details, go to the website at: www.hopefestonline.com.

Pilgrim United Church of Christ

Come enjoy the fun and/or volunteer to assist with the "Vacation Bible School carnival" from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on July 23. Weather permitting, the church will be entertaining a carnival on the lawn. There will be food (hot dogs, sloppy joes, popcorn and cotton candy), games (corn hole, duck pond, ring toss, face painting, bounce house, and more) and a whole lot of fun. The church's Diversity Committee is sponsoring a "Town Hall Discussion on Immigration Policy and Conditions in the USA" on July 22 at 7 p.m. at Pilgrim UCC, located at 2592 West 14th St., Cleveland.

The screening of the movie "A Day without A Mexican" will be followed by a town hall discussion moderated by Cleveland immigration attorney and author Richard T. Herman.

First United Methodist Church

First United Methodist Church, 245 Portage Trail, is sponsoring a Red Cross Blood Drive July 18 from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Also at 9:45 a.m., the Red Cross is honoring First Church member Bill Dreyer, who has donated more than 225 pints of blood. Walk-ins are welcome.

Going Strong, a group of active retired persons at First Church, are sponsoring a bus trip to Lakeside on July 24 to spend the day and also see a concert by The Ohio State Alumni Band. The bus leaves the church at noon. Dinner will be at the Diana Deli Restaurant in Port Clinton and the concert is at 8 p.m. at the Hoover Auditorium at Lakeside. Register your fourth, fifth and sixth grader now for Wesley Camp, sponsored by First Church and taking place at Camp Aldersgate, which is in Carrollton. The camp is Aug. 6 to 8 and includes swimming, singing, playing, archery, a trip to a nature center, walking the labyrinth, camp fires and lots of fun.

Northampton Bible Church

Northampton Bible Church invites all children ages 4 through (going into) Grade 6 to attend Vacation Bible School. The program was slated for July, but has been postponed until August. On Aug. 1 through 5 from 6:30 to 8:40 p.m., children will have fun with a program called "High Seas Expedition: Exploring the Mighty Love of God!" The program is filled with Bible-learning experiences children will see, hear, touch and taste. Bible Point crafts, team-building games, Bible songs and treats are just a few of the activities that attendees will enjoy.

Bailey Road Christian Church

Vacation Bible School will be presented from July 18-22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The theme will be, "Son Harvest Country Fair." Preschool through sixth grade are welcome. Twin Falls United Methodist Church

Vacation Bible Adventure will take place July 18-27 from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. for children 3 to 12 years old. The theme is RENEW -- "Grow in Faith. Have Fun. Change the World." There will be a picnic lunch kickoff at 12:30 p.m. on July 18.

The Church in
Silver Lake

The Church in Silver Lake invites all youth from 4 years of age through sixth grade to come to its Vacation Bible School, "Galactic Blast," July 19 through July 23 from 6 to 8 p.m. The week is packed full of games, singing, arts and crafts, snacks, new and old friends and much more. The last evening will be a family picnic.

Journey Covenant Church
