Silver Lake -- Police at about 3 a.m. July 1 stopped a car that was reportedly traveling westbound on Kent Road with its high beams on and weaving from lane to lane. The police officer making the stop said the driver, a 94-year-old man, had been reported as a missing person from Wooster. Police reported the man was "very disoriented" and not able to say where he was and what was going on. The man was transported to Fairlawn and released to a family member. The man's car was left parked on Landon Drive, and the man's family said they would return later in the day to pick up the vehicle. July 7 -- Hair clip missing. A Silver Lake Boulevard resident reported a 14 karat solid gold hair clip was stolen from her bathroom sometime between 9 a.m. and noon June 25. The item is valued at $500 to $600. Police detectives are investigating. June 30 -- Road rage reported. A Stow woman reported a road rage incident that took place on Graham Road near West Edgerton Road at about 9:30 p.m. June 29. The woman told police she was driving northbound on Route 8 when she was cut off by another vehicle. She stated she honked her horn at the vehicle. Both vehicles exited at Graham Road and began traveling east on that road. The woman said the same vehicle tried to cut her off and she again honked her horn. As she passed the vehicle, someone in that car threw something at the woman's car, and then the vehicle got behind her car. According to the report, she slowed down and the suspects' vehicle passed her. The woman said her husband rolled down his window and the suspects threw pop all over both the inside and outside of the car. According to police, the victim gave officers the license plate number of the car involved in the case. The owner of the car matching that plate number told police he was at work at the time of the reported road rage incident and had his car with him. There were no injuries or damage. July 10 -- Drug charges levied. A 49-year-old Akron man and a 38-year-old Silver Lake man assisted the fire department in locating an open burn. The fire was found in the backyard of a home in the 3000 block of Englewood Drive. The 49-year-old man was tending the fire. According to the report, police saw a marijuana pipe and a small bag of marijuana on a patio table. The 49-year-old man was charged with drug abuse and drug paraphernalia.
