David’s House Family Church
Davids House Family Church Pastors Richard and Theresa Skoff and Community of Believers - Pastor Tom Bloom have been hosting bi-monthly worship services with five other area churches for about two years. They call the event “Together in Worship.” They are sponsoring an outdoor “Together in Worship” next Sunday Evening July 18 from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on the Cuyahoga Falls Amphitheater.  All are welcome.
The other churches they are working with are Community of Christ Pastor Patrick Barrett, Emanuel Christian Assembly Pastor Joe Schoblocher, Sanctuary of Praise Pastor David Fisher, and Suffield Fellowship Church Pastor Jim Shuman.

St. John's Episcopal Church

The men of St. John's gather at Reggie's Restaurant for breakfast the second Wednesday of each month. If you haven't been able to join the group, please consider it for this month, July 14.

The Adult Education summer session began July 1. You will still be welcome to join the group for a light salad supper at 6:15 p.m. followed by the class titled Unbinding Your Heart. Books are available for $13.50 each by a free-will offering.

This summer St. John's will be making a pictorial directory in-house. Ryan Smas will be taking professional portraits July 11 and Aug. 1. Group shots will be taken at the church picnic July 25.

The church needs a picture of Sally Russell. If anyone has one that they would be willing to let the church borrow and scan or even a digital picture, please call the office.

The Double T Quilt Club will not meet at the church as usual July 15. The group plans to visit Anna Louisa's Needle Arts Shop in Louisville. If anyone needs a ride, call one of the officers of the club.

The church is located at 2220 2nd St. Parking is across the street. Handicap facilities are also available.

St. Luke's Lutheran Church

Vacation Bible School: St. Luke's, 2121 Sixth St., will be having a "High Seas Adventure" VBS, July 19-23 from 6 to 8:30 p.m. All are welcome so bring a friend and register today online at www.stlukes-cf.com or call 330-929-2683.

St. Luke's Lutheran Church's annual picnic and service will be Aug. 29 at Lion's Lodge. Service will be at 10:30 a.m. followed by a picnic at noon. There will also be an opportunity to take a Civil War tour at Oakwood Cemetery. For more information or to sign up for the tour call 330-929-2683.

Northminster Presbyterian Church

The Northminster Presbyterian Church, 104 W. Portage Trail Extension, will continue throughout the summer to worship at the usual 10:30 a.m. Sunday time. The Rev. Stephanie Crossland will finish the month of July by speaking on "Not Moved from Hope" and "Ask, Seek, Find." In August, Rev. Crossland will focus on "An Overwhelming God," "No Excuses" and "The Choice to Love."

The Northminster Book Club will continue to meet on the third Monday of each month at 1:15 PM in the church lounge. On July 19, the club will be discussing "The Help" by Kathryn Stockett, and at their August meeting, they will discuss "An Altar in the World" by Barbara Brown Taylor.

All teenage youth (completed grades 6-12) are invited for an afternoon of youth fellowship and summer fun planning, following the worship service on July 11, from noon to 3 p.m. Teens are asked to bring a calendar, invite a friend and come ready to plan some fun summer events.

The Presbyterian Women of Northminster Church are planning their annual Summer Salad Supper for July 21 at 6 p.m. at the church. A collection will be taken at the supper for "Tools of Hope Program."

The Northminster Craft Guild meets on the third Wednesday and Saturday of each month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., for women of the congregation and their friends who are interested in any craft. The next meetings will be on July 17 and July 21. Bring a lunch and plan to stay for good fellowship and crafting. Anyone who knits or crochets is encouraged to become a part of the Prayer Shawl ministry. Upon completion, the Prayer Shawls are dedicated and given to those individuals with a need to be "wrapped in prayers and warmth."

Pilgrim United
Church of Christ

Pilgrim United Church of Christ invites community members to grow in their faith this Sunday through Christian Education at 9:30 a.m., or to experience the living presence of God through worship at 10:30 a.m. The church, on the corner of Broad Boulevard and Second Street, is handicap accessible. Groups that meet weekly at Pilgrim include Chancel Choir, Sundays at 9 a.m.; Adult Bible Study, Tuesdays at 10 a.m.; Emotions Anonymous, Thursdays at 8 p.m.; Alcoholics Anonymous, Saturdays at 8 p.m. Pilgrim is also proud to host Free Community Lunch the second Saturday of every month.

The next date to enjoy a complimentary hot meal with the community is Aug. 14 at noon.

The church welcomes the Rev. Jerry Baker in the pulpit during Pastor Kirk's vacation (through July 25).

Come enjoy the fun and/or volunteer to assist with the "Vacation Bible School carnival" from 6:30-8:30 p.m. on July 23. Weather permitting (lots of prayers for fair weather, please), the church will be entertaining a carnival on the lawn. There will be food (hot dogs, sloppy joes, popcorn and cotton candy), games (corn hole, duck pond, ring toss, face painting, bounce house, and more) and a whole lot of fun. The church's Diversity Committee is sponsoring a "Town Hall Discussion on Immigration Policy and Conditions in the USA" on July 22 at 7 p.m. at Pilgrim UCC, located at 2592 West 14th St., Cleveland.

First United Methodist Church

Chess Camp at First Church is July 12-16 from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. The cost is $100 for the week and includes trips to the Great Lakes Science Center NASA exhibit and Cuyahoga Valley Train, a T-shirt and a concluding tournament on Friday.

The camp is open to all K-6th graders who are unrated or rated under 1,000. No chess experience is required. There will be life lessons from the Old Testament, crafts, snacks, and lots and lots of chess. Before and after care is available for an additional fee.

First Church is sponsoring a Red Cross Blood Drive on July 18, from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.. Also at 9:45 a.m. that day Red Cross is honoring First Church member, Bill Dreyer, who has donated more than 225 pints of blood. Walk-ins are welcome to the blood drive, but if you know you are coming, it would be helpful to let the church know ahead of time by calling 330-923-5241, ext. 210.

Going Strong, a group of active retired persons at First Church, are sponsoring a bus trip to Lakeside on July 24 to spend the day and also see a concert by The Ohio State Alumni Band.

The bus leaves the church parking lot at the southwest corner of Portage Trail and Third Street at noon. Dinner will be at the Diana Deli Restaurant in Port Clinton and the concert is at 8 p.m. at the Hoover Auditorium at Lakeside.

Trinity United Church
of Christ

Trinity United Church of Christ, 915 N. Main St., Akron, will host Monday Evening Prayer and Bible Study starting July 12. The group will gather to study the Bible, pray and expect great things each Monday evening at 7:30 p.m.

There are no special requirements or skills that one needs to bring. Just come and share in the joyous spirit of studying and praying as one.

Trinity's prayer time is 7:30 a.m. and/or 7:30 p.m. daily.

Worship service will continue on the 10:30 a.m. schedule throughout the summer with announcements beginning at 10:20 in the sanctuary.

Northampton Bible Church

Northampton Bible Church invites all children ages 4 through (going into) Grade 6 to attend Vacation Bible School. On July 18-22 from 6:30 to 8:40 p.m., children will have fun with a program called "High Seas Expedition: Exploring the Mighty Love of God!"

United Presbyterian Church

Pastor Ross Slaughter is currently preaching a message series: "Experiencing the Living God: Knowing His Will - Living Your Purpose." Video of Sunday messages can be viewed online by logging on to: www.tangle.com/fallsupc. Communion will be celebrated at both services.

United Presbyterian offers two types of worship. The traditional service starts at 8:30 a.m. and the New Creation contemporary service starts at 11 a.m. The Educational Hour, including "Amazement Park" for elementary school-age children, is from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

On July 11, the U.P.C. Golf League will be teeing off at 5 p.m. at the Fox Den Golf Course in Stow.

PrayerLab will meet July 13 from 7 to 8:30 p.m. PrayerLab is a ministry that focuses in on participants' prayer needs and helps participants grow in effective prayer. No agenda or liturgy so as to be Spirit-led.

The "God-Sightings" Bible discussion group will meet July 17 at 9 a.m. For more information contact the church office for location.

Bailey Road
Christian Church

Vacation Bible School will be presented from July 18-22 from 6:30 to 8:30 p.m. The theme will be, "Son Harvest Country Fair." Preschool through 6th grade are welcome. Program includes Bible stories, crafts, games, songs and snacks. The church is located at 3200 W. Bailey Road. Call 330-929-2527.

Bethany United
Church of Christ

Bethany United Church of Christ welcomes the community to worship with the congregation each Sunday at 8:30 (in the Social Hall) and 9:30 a.m. (in the Sanctuary). Nursery is available from 9:15 to 10:30 a.m. Bethany's Vacation Bible School, "Super Heroes," is the week of July 12-16. The church hopes children age 4 through completed grade 5 will join the congregation for Hero Headquarters! Registration is required. Register online at www.bethanyucc.org or the first day of VBS. Cost is $5 per child with a maximum of $10 per family. Bethany's Prayer Shawl group meets the second Monday of each month.

This ministry will meet at 9:30 a.m. in the lounge July 12. Bethany Kitchen, a free luncheon at 11:30 a.m. for those in the community who need a meal, will be July 17. Help is always needed for food preparation, serving and cleaning up.

Graham Road Baptist Church

Graham Road Baptist Church will host the Vacation Bible School titled "Seaquest: Diving for God's Treasure" July 11-16 from 6:30 to 8:45 p.m. It will be open to all children from age 4 to sixth grade. Graham Road Baptist Church is located at 705 Graham Road.
