A 44-year-old Falls man was arrested and charged with felonious assault after police say he caused serious physical harm to a 30-year-old Falls man July 2 when the man was thrown from the roof of the 44-year-old's car. According to the report, the 44-year-old man accelerated his vehicle while the other man was on the roof of the car about 9:30 p.m. Police say the men had been involved in an argument at a friend's house, but do not know why the 30-year-old had climbed onto the roof of the car. He was thrown from the car and landed in the street on Valley Road near State Road. The driver left the scene. The victim was transported by the Cuyahoga Falls Fire Department to Akron City Hospital for serious injuries, the report said. The driver was later found and arrested. Burglary July 4 -- Computer missing. A woman reported someone entered a residence in the 800 block of Eaton Avenue through an unlocked front door and took a Dell laptop computer from the front living room. Nothing else appeared to be missing. The loss of property is estimated at $1,500. June 30 -- Jewelry taken. A couple told police someone broke into their home in the 2500 block of 17th Street sometime between 3:30 and 9:30 p.m., and took approximately $550 worth of jewelry. Assault July 2 -- Teen attacked. A 51-year-old Akron man reported his 16-year-old son was assaulted near the north fountain at Stow Avenue and Front Street at about 10:30 p.m. His son had an injury to his right elbow and nose. The case is under investigation. Criminal damaging July 2 -- Window smashed. An employee of the Summit County Educational Service Center told police that someone threw a rock through the front window of their building sometime between 5:30 p.m. July 1 and 7 a.m. July 2. Damage to the building is estimated at $400. Theft July 1 -- Car stolen. A 24-year-old Akron woman reported someone stole a 2006 GMC Envoy from a business in the 200 block of Huddleston Avenue. The keys to the vehicle had been left in it. Loss is estimated at $14,990. The incident happened sometime between 11:20 a.m. and 2:30 p.m.
Attempted rape June 30 -- Police investigating. A Falls woman reported a man she knows forced her into his car and attempted to remove her clothes and have sex with her. The woman reported she kicked and screamed until the man stopped. The woman said she did not have any injuries and did not want medical attention. She wants to press charges. According to police no charges have been filed. The case is under investigation. Identity Fraud June 30 -- Identity theft alleged. A 29-year-old Falls woman reported she recently discovered someone used her identity to secure gas usage valued at more than $1,300 at an address she never lived in from August 2008 to April 2009. Police have a lead and are investigating. Accident July 2 -- Child at the wheel. A GMC Yukon was parked in the driveway in the 3200 block of Bath Heights Drive. The owner's 3-year-old son got into the vehicle, put it in neutral, and the vehicle backed down the driveway and across the street into a small tree and then continued across the street and into a light pole, knocking it over.
