Police arrest Falls man found with stolen electronics

Cuyahoga Falls -- A 23-year-old Falls man was arrested at 12:30 a.m. May 25 and charged with receiving stolen property after police say he was found in possession of two laptop computers and a video game system that were reported stolen in a burglary. He was booked in the Summit County Jail on charges of burglary and receiving stolen property, according to the jail's website.

Theft, misuse of credit card

May 31 -- Cash, cards taken. A resident of the 3300 block of Prange Drive reported someone entered his locked car between 4 and 5 a.m. and removed $40 in cash and two debit cards belonging to a Kent woman. One of the debit cards was used in eight different transactions at area stores totaling $629 in charges. There were no signs of forced entry.

Theft

May 29 -- Purse stolen. A resident of the 4200 block of Wyoga Lake Road reported someone took her purse from her front steps when she momentarily stepped inside her residence at 3 p.m. The purse contained miscellaneous photos, a makeup bag, and four prescriptions. Estimated loss was $40.

May 26 -- Car parts removed. The owner of an auto repair business in the 4800 block of State Road reported that someone between 7 p.m. May 25 and 9 a.m. May 26 removed the catalytic converters, valued at $175 each, from two vans parked in the lot, and tried to remove the catalytic converter from a car, causing $156 worth of damage to the car.

Criminal damaging

May 28 -- Car vandalized. A Tallmadge man reported someone pushed a trash bin into the right side of his 2008 Ford Mustang in the 100 block of Stow Avenue between 8 and 10:27 p.m. The car was also keyed on both back fenders, the report said, and a profanity had been written in marker on the windshield. Estimated damage was $1,500.

Disorderly conduct

May 28 -- Riverfront arrest. A 19-year-old Akron man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct on Riverfront Parkway at 9:30 p.m. for fighting. Others involved in the fight could not be identified, police said.

May 28 -- Front Street mall arrest. A 53-year-old Barberton man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct shortly before 9 p.m. after police found him highly intoxicated on the Front Street Mall and annoying numerous young girls by winking and grabbing at them during Rockin' on the River. The man was released to his wife, the report said.

May 27 -- Left son alone in car. A 22-year-old Akron man was arrested and charged with disorderly conduct in the 700 block of Howe Avenue around 3 p.m. after reportedly leaving his 3-year-old son unattended in his vehicle for about 15 minutes while he was in a nearby business.

Criminal trespassing

May 27 -- Trespasser sought. A warrant was requested from Stow Municipal Court after an employee of a thrift store in the 1700 block of State Road signed a criminal complaint for trespassing against a 59-year-old homeless man who entered the store at 9:15 a.m., two days after being warned by police not to return.

Burglary

May 26 -- Medication missing. A resident of the 2800 block of Northland Street reported someone entered his house, leaving no signs of forced entry, and took more than 100 pills of different painkillers.

Accident

May 26 -- Stark County man cited. A 31-year-old Canton man was cited for assured clear distance ahead after an accident at 3:10 p.m. According to the report, he was traveling south on State Road north of Valencia Drive when he rear-ended a car driven by a 16-year-old Akron girl who stopped suddenly. Police said the girl stated the driver of the car in front of her slammed on the brakes, prompting her to do the same.
