First United Methodist Church First United Methodist Church, 245 Portage Trail, is celebrating Music Sunday at their 11 a.m. service on May 2. United Presbyterian Church As part of his series "Experiencing the Living God: Knowing His Will - Living Your Purpose," Pastor Ross Slaughter's message will be on God's relentless pursuit to reach us in His determined love. The "God-Sightings" Bible discussion group will meet May 3 from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the Church Parlor. The Mission Committee of UPC will be hosting a Bake Sale throughout the day on Election Day, May 4. The proceeds will be used for Central Asia Mission. PrayerLab will meet May 4, from 7 to 8:30 p.m. On May 5, the U.P.C. Tallmadge Clergy Association is offering a time to gather together on the National Day of Prayer on May 6. The congregation will gather for breakfast at the church at 7 a.m. The church will be collecting a $5 donation for breakfast to support Tallmadge Good Neighbors. Everyone is invited to join in prayer and breakfast. Northminster Presbyterian Church The Northminster Presbyterian Church, 104 W. Portage Trail Ext. invites community members to join the congregaton for their Sunday morning worship service at 10:30 a.m. with the Rev. Stephanie Crossland. During May, the Rev. Crossland will center her worship themes around "Choose This Day," "Stirring the Waters," "The Witness," "Coming Home" (Pentecost Sunday) and "It's Not the Vine that Ate the South." The Children's Sunday School classes continue to meet each Sunday morning during the worship service, following the Pastor's "Moment with the Children." Children in grades 1-5 meet with the Shining Stars Class, while the students in grades 6-8 meet with the New Beginnings Class. The Adult Sunday School class, which meets each Sunday morning from 9:15 to 10 a.m. in the Lounge, continues to follow a new format, by viewing Faith Lessons, as recorded on DVDs a "On the Life & Ministry of the Messiah." "Good Neighbors Sunday" is the second Sunday of each month, when the church tries to fill its grocery cart with non-perishable food items and brown grocery bags. Bethany United Church of Christ Bethany invites the community to join the congregation in worship every Sunday at 8:30 and 10:30 a.m. The church offers church school for children and adults at 9:15 a.m. The first Sunday of each month, Bethany's volunteer nurses offer blood pressure tests during social hour. She will speak to the group about Jacqueline Kennedy-Onassis. The outreach committee meeting is May 3 at 7 p.m. On May 4, the Altar Guild meets.
