I have just read and also heard on the radio about Mayor Robart's question about whether it is time to eliminate unions in Cuyahoga Falls. I think unions are necessary because I believe employers would never give raises, insurance or any other benefits if approached individually by an employee. Since I have not followed this as closely as I should have, I am unaware of any steps the mayor has taken to reduce his own salary and benefit package in an effort to keep costs down. If he hasn't taken these steps for himself, he should not expect others to do so. You know ... lead by example. Trying to break unions to solve fiscal problems is not the way to negotiate employee contracts. Darlene Ruby Cuyahoga Falls Comments
